I have to say this was an amazing two days! Such a magical time to visit NYC! The first night as we arrived at Rockefeller Center it began to snow!
Getting around NY by subway is easy and you get to meet a very interesting cast of characters on the subway.
The food was great! If you get away from the main tourist areas I found eating to be very affordable.
A fan of dim sum I searched for a place and found in Hop Shing (9 Chatham Square, New York, NY 10038) in Chinatown. Small place but VERY busy with the locals, so I knew right away I had chosen well! Bring cash they don’t take cards!
My friend Tom who lives in Brooklyn asked me to join him at a little Victorian themed bar and eatery named Lillie’s Victorian Establishment (249 W 49th St, New York, NY 10019) in MidTown. It had a very cozy feel and the lunch specials were great!
I also visited Black Tap (529 Broome St, New York, NY 10013). This is one of those trendy places that has become hot for reasons I don’t understand. Skip it! It’s over rated and the staff were rude!
Again, great trip!
